In Padma-Meghna Prohibits Collection Of All Fish

Padma-Meghna prohibits collection of all fish including two months of hilsa.In order to implement the Jatka conservation program, the government has banned the collection of all kinds of fish, including two months of hilsa, in the 90 km area of ​​the Padma-Meghna river in 8 upazilas of Chandpur district (from 01 March 12:01 to 30 April 12 pm.

An area of ​​about 90 km has been announced from Shatanal in North Matlab upazila of Chandpur district and Charvairbi of Himarcha upazila.

Collecting, storing, transporting, buying and selling fish in any jail during the sanctuary will be completely prohibited. If the government disobeys this fisheries law, there are jails and penalties.

A taskforce committee meeting has been held in the upazila of Chandpur district to protect Jatka in the North, Maitlab South, Chandpur Sadar and Highchar Upazilas. Earlier, the task force committee meeting at district level also made stringent decisions about saving Jatka.

Assistant Fisheries Officer Mahbub Rashid, Chandpur Sadar Upazila said, “This year we have decided to launch a campaign on the river together.” The Potato Bazar and Harina Naval Police Station in Sadar Upazila area will also work with us.Taskforce operations will continue day and night to protect Jatka.
