8 road accidents occurred in Faridganj. 1 killed, 20 injured. In Faridpur upazila of Chandpur, total 8 road accidents took place on the same day. A businessman named Sohail Mizi (45) died when he was crushed under the bus. At least 20 people were injured in these separate accidents.

The accident took place on the Chandpur-Lakshmipur regional highway in the central Chandpur area of ​​Gobindpur North Union No. 9 of the upazila on Wednesday afternoon. On the other hand, 5 trucks have met with accidents at different places at the same place in Hansa area of ​​Gobindpur South Union No. 10 of the upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Sohail Mizi, who was killed by a bus accident, was returning home from Faridganj on a bicycle carrying goods. An Ananda Paribahan bus leaving from Faridganj went to the side of the truck coming from the opposite direction and the bus overturned on the side of the road. At that time, Sohail Mizi was crushed under the bus.

Locals rescued Sohail and admitted him to Chandpur General Hospital. The working doctor sent Sohail Mizi to Dhaka Pangu Hospital for better treatment. He later died in an ambulance on his way to Dhaka. The bus driver and helper and the truck driver fled after the accident. At least 20 passengers of the bus were injured in separate accidents. Officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station Mohammad Shahid Hossain confirmed the incident.

On the other hand, it has been learned that 5 trucks carrying goods including Dhaka Metro-T220677, Dhaka Metro-T163083 and Magura-T110146 fell into a ditch at Hansa area of ​​Shariatpur-Chandpur regional highway at different times on Wednesday morning.

At that time, the wheat sacks and gas cylinders in the truck fell on the road. The trucks left Khulna and Benapole for Cumilla and Chattogram. No casualties were reported in the accident, though vehicles and goods were damaged.

The drivers of the damaged trucks said the road had become unsuitable for heavy vehicles. This has increased the suffering of drivers and traders.
