35 tons of jelly mixed shrimp seized in Chandpur. The Coast Guard has seized a large quantity of shrimp mixed with harmful jelly in Chandpur. The operation was carried out in Harina Ferry Ghat area of ​​Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

During the operation, 35 maunds of jelly mixed shrimp were seized in an abandoned condition on the banks of the river.

Chandpur Coast Guard Station Commander Lieutenant Sadiq Hossain said the shrimps were being smuggled from Khulna to Chattogram via Chandpur. After receiving the news, we raided the Harina Ferry Ghat area. At that time the shrimps were seized in an abandoned condition on the banks of the river. The value of the seized shrimp is about 14 lakh taka.

He said those involved in the shrimp consignment fled after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard. The campaign continues to catch the groups involved in this.

The seized shrimps were later buried in the ground on Monday afternoon in the presence of fisheries officials.

Chandpur Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Sudip Bhattacharya said that unscrupulous people mix poisonous jelly in shrimps for more profit. These shrimps mixed with jelly are extremely harmful to the human body. The Fisheries Department is working to bring these cycles under the law.
