Fingerprints Received At Employment & Manpower Department In Chandpur

19,000 fingerprints received at Employment & Manpower Department In Chandpur.Chandpur District Employment and Manpower Department has taken the fingerprints of eight and a half thousand expatriates in the fiscal year 2019-2020. Jasimuddin, assistant director (acting) of the district employment and manpower department, said this on Tuesday (August 18).

According to the information received, fingerprints of 11,600 people have been taken till December 2019 and 7,422 as of July 2020.

In addition, before the Corona situation, 1,000 migrant workers have applied to the Ministry of Manpower, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment to visit their respective workplaces. Exactly how many people came to the country before the Corona situation is not known.

These expatriates from the Middle East, Singapore and Malaysia have not been able to join their respective workplaces due to the closure of international flights since last March due to Corona. As a result, their mental state is very depressing.

Jasimuddin, acting director of the district employment and manpower office, said, ‘The three-day training for fingerprint providers is closed due to the Corona crisis. It will resume only with the permission of the department.

Responding to another question, he said, “The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are jointly liaising with all embassies around the Middle East on the issue of workers from other countries who are unable to return to the country on holiday.” All countries are showing a satisfactory attitude. All countries are positive. But once international flights are launched, they will be able to join their respective workplaces. ‘

According to the data provided by the Chandpur Employment and Manpower Department, Chandpur district ranks sixth in manpower export in Bangladesh and the number of Bangladeshi expatriates working abroad till June 2020 is 3,58,002.

By the way, the expatriates have sent remittances of around Tk. 330 crore in the last one month in 83 branches of only 4 state-owned banks through various financial institutions.
